Romance Was Born

Well Fashion Week wrapped last week, and I have to mention the standout was definitely Romance Was Born with their electric colour, wild mixes, theatrical shapes and very inspirational millinery.

There is always amazing local labels to view and appreciate, but I have to favour anyone who can offer something a little bit different to the others, and really pull it off. Of course, there may be some of these wild pieces you wouldn’t stroll to work in (normally) but those who view these fashion shows regularly, will know this kind of style is hugely inspirational to the ‘watered down’ versions that end up in the stores.

More importantly, going into Winter, we definitely need to introduce at least one bright colour to the usual black/grey/browns that are a familiar palette. Especially since hearing from an influential male recently, that a woman wearing just one bright colour, is verrrrrry attractive ………

Dolce & Gabbana’s golden Baroque look in Milan

Looking for some inspiration this morning, I came across this dynamic designer duo, definitely loving the costume inspired fashion. Something for us all!

MILAN – The young Sicilian widow may still wear a black veil but it doesn’t stop her sashaying through Palermo’s streets in hot pants embellished with Baroque gold, at least according to the Dolce & Gabbana show.

Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said they drew strongly on the Sicilian Baroque tradition for inspiration for their collection, paraded under vast gold chandeliers covered in roses in front of a huge gilt-framed mirror.

Lace was a dominant theme: black veils were worn demurely ….
